Recipe library overview

Your recipe library is where all your recipes live inside dough. It is the foundation for everything else — email recipe cards, digital products, segmentation, and analytics all start with the recipes in your library.

What the library does

• Stores structured recipes with titles, descriptions, ingredients, instructions, timing, photos, dietary tags, cuisine, meal type, and season.
• Imports recipes from blog URLs, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, screenshots, and WordPress recipe plugins.
• Organizes recipes into collections that you can use to build products.
• Searches and filters across your entire library by text, dietary tags, cuisine, meal type, cook time, season, and more.
• Detects duplicates when you import a recipe that might already exist in your library.
• Tracks engagement by showing each recipe’s engagement score alongside its details.

Recipe lifecycle

Every recipe has a status:

Status	Meaning
Draft	In your library but not ready for email or products. Default for newly imported recipes.
Active	Ready to insert into Kit emails and include in digital products.
Archived	Hidden from your library. Still works in existing products that reference it.

Tip

Archiving a recipe does not remove Kit tags that were already applied to subscribers. Past engagement data is preserved.
