Product recommendations

dough analyzes your segment data and recipe engagement to recommend products you should consider building. Recommendations are surfaced as notifications in your dashboard.

How recommendations work

After each daily segment profile computation, dough checks for product opportunities. A recommendation is generated when all of the following are true:

  • A dietary segment has 50 or more subscribers.
  • The engagement rate for that segment is 15% or higher (meaning at least 15% of tagged subscribers saved a recipe in the last 30 days).
  • You have 5 or more recipes with that confirmed dietary tag.

When these conditions are met, you see a notification like:

“200 of your subscribers engage most with gluten-free recipes. You have 12 gluten-free recipes with an average engagement score of 7.3. This could be your next ebook.”

Clicking the call-to-action pre-populates the product builder with all matching recipes, sorted by engagement score.

Acting on recommendations

You do not have to follow every recommendation. Think of them as data-driven nudges. If the numbers align with what you already know about your audience, it is a strong signal to move forward.

If you are not ready to build a full ebook, consider starting with a lead magnet or recipe card pack for that dietary segment. Smaller products are faster to create and help you validate the demand before investing in a larger product.
